Everyone likes to cheer for the underdog... except the Whalers. The Average Joes found a way to get their first win of the season on Saturday night 7/14. The Whalers were up 3-1 in the second period courtesy of a Bill Carlson hat trick, but the Whalers still couldn't put the Joes away. After the Joes fired up the lamp a few more times, Paul Thurston brought the Whalers within one goal with about 90 seconds left, but it was too little, too late. See game video here.
I'm not familiar with the names/numbers of the Joes, but overall this is a very solid team... regardless of new recruits and beginners. The Joes might just steal a spot in the playoffs before the season is over. Good work guys (and a few fantastic girls). You deserve that one.
As far as the Whalers go.... sometimes an early season loss can wake up a team and make them stronger in the long run. Time will tell. Let this be a lesson to all of us... sometimes, "average" is enought to win.
Can't steal a spot in the playoffs. Everyone gets in. Idiot.
ReplyDeleteFinally! A recap worth reading. Nice job, Joes!
ReplyDeleteNow. Pat my ass, and soap my crank.
It's yet to be seen if all 12 teams (10 last season) will be in the playoffs. Maybe you know more than me... idiot.
ReplyDeleteWell,it IS guaranteed that all teams get 1 playoff game, even if it's a play in game or not.....just sayin.
ReplyDeleteYou're absolutely right, Ice Hole. Truly, you've contributed a worthwhile and surely otherwise completely unknown truth to our pedantic, little minds. Yes, shallow and pedantic. God speed, great warrior for blog-going and posting despite everyone in this particular, and likely every other, hockey community clearly less than cherishing your opinions! God speed.
ReplyDeleteHey anon, he was answering a question to another posted. So yes, someone didn't know. Bitch.

ReplyDeleteProps to the Joes they out played us and were supporting one another all over the ice. I enjoyed the skate just wish we had more people getting the chances that I had for it might have been a different outcome.
ReplyDeleteWhaler #23
I just thought everyone should know. Sens won this weekend. Now you can sleep well knowing your favorite team is boss.
ReplyDeleteThank you.
Uh you miss spelled it, it's 'bitch' not 'boss'
ReplyDeleteLet me use it in a sentence for you....
The sens are a bunch of whinney bitches.
Hey English Proffessor. Where'd you get your degree? China? You should be called, "Engrish Pwofessor."
ReplyDeleteYou mis-spelled "mis-spelled," "Professor," and, "whiny."
At least you know The Sens are a bunch of punk-ass cock-knockers; so you're not a total moron, I guess.
A bunch of punk-ass cock-knockers at .500!
ReplyDeleteEarly season predictions swore you would be unbeatable. Now you celebrate being middle of the pack. Ha!
ReplyDeleteMost important is that he didn't deny being a bunch of cock knockers.
ReplyDeleteold people :/
ReplyDeleteNo one ever said we'd be unbeatable; we said we would be good. Evidence of doubling every teams shots.
ReplyDeleteand still not winning.
ReplyDeleteWay to throw your goalie under the bus...
ReplyDeleteA bunch of class-less titty babies
No one is throwing anyone under the bus. I know why we lose. We're too offensive. Give up too many good chances to other teams good players. And guess who thats on? The defense... and who plays defense? Oh yeah...me.
ReplyDeleteHaters gunna hate.
Back to the original story. Any idea why the Joe's are scheduled against the Sens and Rampage twice each? No MIB, Monkeys, or even Keller. Unless I'm missing something?
ReplyDeleteThey are being gentle because its their first time.
