Brahmas are about to announce that everyone who has a season ticket to the Brahmas for 2010-2011 season, or who buys season tickets between now and October 7th will be entered in a drawing to receive two tickets to the first Texas Rangers home playoff game this weekend. The Rangers tickets are either on the 1st or 4th row (third base side). So either way, they are going to be great seats for what will hopefully be the 2nd Rangers playoff win in franchise history. If you dont have season tickets yet contact the Brahmas.

Bronze League Future
Looks like the Bronze League is going to soon split into two completely seperate leagues. Strong teams in one league, and the weaker teams in the other. With the rule that you can only play down one league, the lower league would be free (in theory) from any silver league players. This sounds like a pretty good idea, lets hear your thoughts.

Get Your Popcorn Ready.......Brahmas Making the Cut 2010 Version
This post does have a direct tie into the Bronze, Silver, and Over 35 Leagues at the Nytex Sports Centre.
This weekend marks the fourth installment of the Texas Brahmas “Making the Cut” series at the Nytex Sports Centre in North Richland Hills. This annual pre season event gives free agents the chance to come in and work out for the Brahmas coaches in an effort to gain a spot on the training camp roster. Two years ago Making the Cut participant Ross Rouleau earned a shot at training camp, and actually went on to make the team and was an integral part in the Brahmas winning the CHL championship that year. Rouleau is now playing for the Kalamazoo Wings which are the AA affiliate of the New York Islanders in the East Coast Hockey League.
Last year the blog spotlighted Seth “Tuck” Longbottom who attended the Brahmas Making the Cut camp. Longbottom played in the Nytex Gold and Silver Leagues with the Whistlers and Blazers. He also has helped coach teams from time to time. This year we have a couple of people taking their shot at Making the Cut. First we have Corey Bounds who some of you have played against in the Silver or Gold Leagues at Nytex. Corey played for the Texas Renegades of the Western States hockey League a couple years ago, and more recently has been playing with the Chupacabre and Dirtbags of the Silver League. Also taking a shot at Making the Cut is Steve Hall from the Whistlers, Red Wings (over 35), Blazers, Ice Kings, and a myriad of other teams in the area.
Training Camp for the Brahmas will begin the first weekend in October will one of these two players get an invite.

Bronze League Ranger Division Changes...New Team
A couple changes coming in the Ranger Division this fall/winter. For starters Severe Icing will not be returning this session. With work and family obligations it looks like Icing could not field a team for play in the fall session. However taking their place will be a new team called, Mayhem. Mayhem opens up their season against the Average Joes this Saturday.

"And the Keg goes to..."
MIB lights the lamp three times in the first period and the Bandits never recover. Everyone seemed to play nice and the goal celebrations were quite entertaining. The Bandits appeared to get desperate far too early as their more talented players tried to take the game into their own hands. The Bandits beat MIB earlier in the season, but I guess they peaked too early. "That's the way hockey go."

Bronze League Finals
The Bronze League Finals are set as the Bandits beat the Sens in a shootout to take the Texan Division crown, and MIB beat Rampage 3-1 to take the Ranger Division Crown.
Now the two divison winners will square off against each other Saturday the 11th at the Nytex Sports Centre in North Richland Hills.
This is the first time that either team has been to the Bronze League finals, and the second time the two teams have met. First time these teams tangled the Bandits won. Let's hear your predictions.
