It looks like the Silver League has completely disapeared from this blog. I know a few of you play in Silver League, so lets hear some happenings with your Silver team.
On one note about that, i heard the great #98 finally lost what marbles he had left last weekend, and snapped on Knute during a game. Needless to say, i think/hope he is finally banished from this rink. Rumor is the Ice Kings are going to fold. We'll wait and see what happens with that.
Main problem with teh Silver League is games change like crazy without any warning. Ice Kings had a game last night as of Wednesday. WHat happens when I showed up at the rink on Friday? I find out the game is not on, been moved, to when I dont know, why, how, thanks alot SIlver league for keeping me up to speed.
ReplyDeleteWell, anybody feel free to correct me if i'm wrong, but i think that is mostly Knutes doing? Hell, i'm still waiting for pointstreak to be updated. I might get to see my stats for this season in 2015.
ReplyDeleteFor the record: The Ice Kings are not folding from Silver League. Colton Reese is officially signed as full time goalie. The team has picked up more players and almost has a full roster. #98 has stepped down for now as coordinator and appointed #25 Paul Land as the new coordinator. #98 will be playing Friday nights as a sub. Too bad "Ice Hole"
ReplyDeleteis the reffing equally as shitty in the silver league as in the bronze league?
ReplyDeleteShittier. Ask the dirt bags.
ReplyDeleteI'll start this by saying two things...
ReplyDelete1. The game in question at the very beginning of this thread was my first with Knute and I have zero personal history with him.
2. I've played against #98 a number of times, bronze and silver, with no bad feelings, experiences, or anything that I would consider negative on a personal level.
Early in the first period, playing D, I had stopped a clearing attempt with my feet. As I was looking down to fish it out, 98 railed me and knocked me on my ass. It wasn't an accident. If you've played against me, you know how big I am and that I'm pretty solid on my skates. Knowing he would be taking a penalty, I didn't do anything about it.
In the second period, Knute was in front of the crease and the puck was in the corner. No one was around Knute and he was just standing there. Just before or as the whistle was blowing, 98 cross checked him from behind. No penalty was called and Knute did not retaliate.
Same period, Knute was carring the puck around the right side faceoff dot in the attacking zone and 98 two handed him across the arms. I was on the bench at the time and looked away and didn't see what happened next, but I heard a stick hit the ice and looked up to see Ref. Hale pick up the stick and open the gate to the locker rooms, toss the stick out, and tossed 98 from the game.
I can't attest to if anything was said between Knute and 98 during the game, or during other games as I don't know if they have any history. But, the fact that I got drilled for no reason, then he "attacks" the legaue coordinator twice in the same period tells me that he's either looking to get tossed from the league or just doesn't get it. I play to get some exercise, have some fun and hang out with the guys. I don't know if he's thinking the pro leagues are scouting us and they are looking for the next Ott or Barch or what.
That's my, hopefully fair, assessment of what happened.
If you know anything of the history how Knute runs a rink you are about to find out. Late night games during the work week. Games canceled / changed with no notice. I would have to believe #98 did not want to be there and took things out on Knute to send a message. The rink needs to be accountable for the rink scheduling as every player is paying $20 per hour to skate there.
ReplyDeleteTO Oct. 6th 9:09pm.
ReplyDeleteSo next time there is an unfilled rut after Zamming, I can two hand the poor fucker driving it? What is wrong with you?
Knute may not be the best communicator with everybody in the league, but your defense of #98, whoever the hell he is, is pathetic! It represents what is wrong with most of you over aggressive, win at all costs, fuck the ref, NHL wannabies that think a good slash or a timely trip is a good way to deal with issues.
So you think it was alright for him to "hold Knute responsible" for a scheduling issue by a cross check followed by a slash? Fuck you! That's a chickenshit way of dealing with shit. Be a man, on and off the ice, not some sort of pussy that has to resort to blindsiding someone.
You better consider yourself lucky by the way. If Knute wasn't working for this rink and had an expectation of him to turn the other cheek, you would have had your ass handed to you just before you hit the floor.
Hope you feel good about yourself, ass-hat.
#98 does not play Defense. He plays Center.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like the Ice Kings are at Nytex to stay. They beat the Dirt Bags in a shoot out 5 to 4 without #98.
ReplyDelete#98 shoudl really watch himself. He is old, and not in great shape. That being said, he could get really hurt out there. Advice to #98, keep your head up, and keep it clean. The # of people who are waiting to retaliate is growing. I would not doubt if someone takes him out next time he plays.
ReplyDeleteTo Jim..... :) I'm his Huckleberry
ReplyDeleteWhat is the deal with loading the scores into Pointstreak? I mean there are games from teh 17th of September that are still not in there. That is three weeks. What a F-ing joke man. This league sucks. Not only can teams bring in whoever they want to play for them, but there are never penalties called, and scores are never updated. Not to mention all the time changes and complete, total, and utter lack of communcation.
ReplyDeleteAgreed. On all points. Amen.
ReplyDeleteHey Ice Kings, great game last night! That was a heartbreaking loss for us in the last 30 seconds. Great game though. My legs are still numb!
ReplyDeleteKnute is the worst Hockey Director in the metroplex, he also is a hack that has no business playing D league....Nytex sucks!!!
ReplyDeleteHey. Anyone know when the stats will be updated for Bronze, or who does it? I know it takes awhile to put in all the stats for the players on a team, but there are even games long-since played that aren't posted yet. I'd just like to see how everyone's doing, and I know I'm not the only one in the boat.
ReplyDeletePJs 42
You're right 42 you're nit the only on in the boat. We have a whole team of Men in [the] Boat.
ReplyDeleteAh hahahahahaha. And I'm going to Euless!
Anon 2:40am
ReplyDeleteBeing that your posting at 2:40am and your grammar is lacking, drunk typing, or what have you, can you please tell us wtf you're talking about.
And just an FYI, Euless season starts THIS Friday, so if you're looking to head over there to see how things are, now would be the time.
The team i play on is making the move after all the lack of management from Knute. Who knows if things will be better, but i'm sure they will be somewhat better.
Polar Ice does have consistancy with scheduling. Although the ice is not as good with the outside edge having a dip causing spearing accidents. All and all; all rinks have their issues. It is what ever you decide to play at with the lesser of the worst evils.
ReplyDeleteI think it's more to do with scheduling. I mean, who the hell wants to play a week night game at 11:00, and have to work early the next day?
ReplyDeletea true hockey player
ReplyDeleteIt is true no one really wants to go out and play games at 11 on a work/school night. However, the thing is, we live in Texas, and as such there are not that many rinks available to us. Luckily in Northeast Tarrant County we do have a few to choose from. They each bring their pros and cons, but wherever you chose to play just keep in mind ice is not native to Texas and it is a privledge to be able to play anywhere in the deep south. I am happy to play no matter when it is. We share the ice with kids as little as 3 years old who are going out for skate school, we share the ice with a pro hockey team, multiple junior teams, a couple dozen adult teams, as well as figure skaters, recreational skaters, and the occasional church group. Ideally I would like to have a set schedule where we play games once a week no later than 9 pm, but I also realize that each of the above mentioned parties wants the same thing. So if there is a game at 10 or 11 I suck it up, strap em on, and get after it. All the time spent bitching on this blog doesnt make anything better. It just creates animosity. I am sure Nytex knows that the adult leagues are not happy playing so late, but at the same time what are you going to do give the early games to the adults and make the little kids play late night? Lets be adults and be glad for what we have.
ReplyDeleteAll that being said, what would it take to get the bronze league on pointstreak, league lineup is so archaic.
Dude. 2008 Nytex had two sheets of ice. Get rid of soccer and put the other sheet of ice back in. Problem solved....:)
ReplyDeleteThat will never happen. Not unless Nytex extracts their craniums from their rectums
ReplyDeleteListen up, pussies....
ReplyDeleteThis isn't Burger King. You can't always have it YOUR way. If you want to play hockey, toughen up and FUCKING PLAY! I don't care f the games start at midnight. If you really want to play, you'll be there. You'll be there, and then close the fucking bar down afterwards.
That's what a hockey player do.....
Pussies!
The last comment sounds like a #72 Hallsey comment. Some of us have to work. With no work you have no money to play hockey.
