Silver league playoffs are in the throws of upsets, fights and great games...
Here is the story so far...
Ice Kings beat Grean Leaf 7-4 in the play-in game to put the Ice Kings at the 8th seed.
Ice Kings lost to the Ice Dogs in the first game of three 8-1 to follow it up in game two with their part time goalie and won 4-1 in game two. Game three follows on Friday May 14th to finish this up and down series. Can the ice Kings pull it off and upset the number 1 seed?
Crank it up have forced the Borrachos out in a 14-2 win in the first game and a 9-6 win in the second game. The Borrachos quest in cleaning up for the second years hopes have been dashed.
The Blazers beat the Indians in a heart fought battle to win 6-4. Second game for the Blazers and Indians is tonight at 9:00 PM with the thrid game if required to be played on Wednesday.
Last but by no means least is the Ice Cracks and the Hornets. Ice Cracks are up 1-0 in the series with a 6-3 win with the second game tonight, Monday 10th at 7:30 PM...
Proposed teams in the semi-finals are...
Blazers make it, beating the Indians 6-4 in the second game, sweeping the Indians.
Ice Kings upset the Ice Dogs in a close 4-3 victory.
Ice Cracks sweep the Hornets winning 4-2 in the next game.
Crank it Up are there having disposed of the Borrachos.
Great hockey, great goal-tending, great spirited playing!
Love this sport!
It matters not...
ReplyDeleteCrank it up = Knute + a bunch of young guns. No true Silver league team can match their speed. They will run the table.
Fuck the Silver league and every team having five A legue players, thats not a D league its a fucking joke
ReplyDeleteAs long as there is beer league hockey on this planet, earth as we know it, there will be ringers. So it was writen, so it will be.
ReplyDeleteI think the Ice Kings and Green Leaf are the only two D-League teams, as a whole team and they have got fucked all season by the other teams... All the other teams have their B and A leaguers playing and it is all about winning... I am all about winning, that is what we attempt to do when we play, but it should be better policed... Otherwise, teams that move up will move back down to I-league and fuck that up...
ReplyDeleteMoventhe two top teams up in every league and the bottom two down...
I guess that means the Ice Kings and Green Leafs will have to move down to Bronze league. Even though we beat the 1st place team last Sunday night 4 to 1. :)
ReplyDeleteI would be suprised to see the Ice Kings beat the Ice Dogs in game 3.
ReplyDeleteI agree with teh above comment on the two teams at top being moved p and two teams at bottom being moved down. Ice Kings would win every game in Bronze though, Green Leaf would probably be at least a 500 club. Kings would win the Keg and then bounce back to the silver league.
ReplyDeleteWell, at least something would be postive about making the leagues a bit more competitive. If you stand pat, teams will simply load up on sandbaggers and make a run. Now at least that would push them toward a more appropriate level.
ReplyDeleteBut when the worst colprit in the Silver league is the team that the hockey director, Knute, is on. Why would you think anything will ever be done. Check out Knutes 35+ team, same song, different dance. Knute is all about himself. He is the big bully with his very own hockey rink, gets to make the rules, and cries like a baby if he gets hit on the ice.
ReplyDelete"Well, at least....." blah, blah, blah. My vagina is swelling shut.
