NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, Texas (July 23)- In conjunction with the Central Hockey League (CHL), the Texas Brahmas, have released their complete regular season schedule for the 2010-11 campaign.

The Brahmas will open their thirteenth season with a quick trip on the road facing their cross town rivals, the Allen Americans for back to back games, Friday, October 15 and Saturday, October 16. The Brahmas open their season at home Friday, October 22 against the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees for a 7:30 PM start.

The Brahmas will be contending in the Southern Conference for a third straight season and will be hosting several rivalries. The Metroplex rivalry against Allen will take place five times at NYTEX and epic I-20 battles against the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs will pick up 11 times this season, with six of the contests at home.

Fans will experience a change in start times at NYTEX as the puck will drop at 7:00 PM on Monday-Thursday dates, 7:30 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, and 4:00 PM faceoffs on Sunday games.

The newly featured 66-game schedule features 28 home weekend dates (11 Friday, 13 Saturday and 4 Sunday games). The Brahmas end 2010 with a bang as they host the Mudbugs for a 6:00 PM New Year’s Eve game. A special 6;00 PM faceoff will be set for President’s Day, February 21 when the Wichita Thunder visit NYTEX.

The Brahmas longest homestand is a five game span around the Thanksgiving holiday from November 24-December 4. The longest road trip will be a four game period from December 7-17; the road trip includes Laredo, Tulsa, Allen and Bossier-Shreveport.

Texas Brahmas General Manager Mike Barack is excited about the team’s thirteenth season and looks forward to the 2010-11 campaign.

"This is one of the best schedules in the history of the team in terms of facing our geographical rivals, especially Allen and Bossier. I believe our home schedule is extremely favorable to all Brahmas fans and we anticipate a great season," said Barack.

  1. 13 home games on Saturday. Good bye decent ice times. Wait, isn't our game at 11:20pm on Saturday? Nevermind.

  3. Of course, just like NYTEX to change the fuckin' schedule anytime they see fit, without a warning or ANYTHING....Duchebags!

  4. Thank god, playing these games at a decent time was starting to wear on me finally we can go back to 11:00 weekday games and 1am saturday games. FYI nobody in the Bronze league gives a shit about the Brahams all thier season is to us is the end of good ice time and the start of the bronze league getting shafted everytime some fucking church group wants to skate with the Brahmas you just push our ice time back a couple hours. But hey fuck us we only paid for ice time.

  5. Since Nytex opened its doors in 2007 there has been Brahmas hockey, with the majority of games taking place on Saturday nights. True there use to be a second sheet of ice, but that is not the case now. This will be the second season that Nytex will support the Brahmas and Bronze League on just one sheet of ice. Last season there were games at 10:15 and 10:30 on weeknights, there were games on Saturday afternoons before a Brahmas game, and there were games after Brahmas games.

The Brahmas are playing out of Nytex again for the 2010-2011 season, and will be playing the majority of their home games on the weekend. The Gold League is gone for the fall, so there will be a little bit more room to work in all the Bronze Games. There will be a coordinators meeting before the start of next season, and the schedule will be laid out for all the coordinators so that there are no suprises and everyone has time to tell their teams.

The summer time is always the best scheduling wise for the Bronze and Silver Leagues, and the fall winter is a little more tricky. What makes things more tricky for the Bronze League is the fact that it is 12 teams now as opposed to 8. The extra 4 teams require 2 more game slots each week. In the fall session the prime Saturday game times will be equally shared amongst all teams, and we will march on.

    Sincerely,

    Duchebags

  6. Hey retard. You're spelling Douchebag wrong.

  7. I personally don't mind the late games. We get cheap seats for the Brahmas game for being Bronze League players. Drink a few beers, watch some semi-pro hockey, then take your buzz to the ice and play some hockey. Granted I've only been playing for less than a year so this is all I've ever known.

  8. Drinking beer then playing hockey should not happen. The Puddle Jumpers are a good example of what can and will happen.

    ReplyDelete
  9. how are they an example of that?

  10. and how many games has he played this summer, or are you just going back to last season when he was playing? i dont think the pj's are the same team this summer as they were the first season they were in this league.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Of course they're not the same team. Look at their record. They are a winning team and despite what thier reputation is they have always seemed pretty tame on the ice.

    ReplyDelete
  12. now the team is organized and has a little experience under their belt they are actually playing hockey and winning. i dont think they want a bad reputation and appear to be playing to win and not push people around.

  13. What a bunch of unappreciative bitches. Bottom line is Nytex is a business and does all they can with the circumstances they were dealt. If you don't like it, I'm sure Euless will take your money.

Chad (and Nytex), thank you for all you do for us.

    ReplyDelete
  14. The only person on the PJ's that's playing hockey is Hankins. As far as being a tame team? Please. 3 people got ejected one game, and they weren't all named Rust. Get over yourselves.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I forgot people are just in the bronze league because the career in NHL hasnt taken off yet. So everyone else just sits around scratching their ass and Hankins is the only person to score on the pj's team? Get your facts straight you dumbfuck, only rust was ejected from that game, last season. this is a new season.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Three people were ejected, and the coach attempted to choke Rust out. I watched the whole thing buddy; and yes, Hankins is the only one that does shit on that team.

    ReplyDelete
  17. you must not be able to pay to much attention to detail. the coach and rust got into, rust was ejected later and the other two skated off the ice on their own accord. they were also back the following week to play again.

Actually, the whole team was ejected, because they were fixin' to drop the gloves, and pound the little shits they were playing into the ice.

    ReplyDelete
  19. You're right Anonymous @ 7:20. Three people were ejected, and Hankins makes up the entire team.

There. Now you can stop imagining things about hockey, and go back to looking at gay donkey porn and imagining you're there too.

    ReplyDelete
  20. It's not gay donkey poor asshat. Just regular gay porn.

  22. On second thought, I think you meant, "I love it when the blog 'cums' to life," Anonymous.

You're welcome, and I forgive your oversight.

  23. The Gold League is gone for the fall = all those players drop down into Silver and dominate and frustrated silver players move down to bronze to stroke their egos. Great.

    ReplyDelete
  24. its not like they didnt do that before the gold league was gone.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree, the Gold league may be gone, but not Gold caliber players, so Silver is dominated by a couple of teams that they all flock to together. All the other guys who have legitimate Silver teams get smoked and lose interest then go somewhere else, like perhaps Bronze and make that league the same way, or worse yet, to another rink.

I don't get it, this isn't rocket science, yet it seems to get screwed up more times that not......

Also, what is up with the Silver Pointstreak? Half the information is missing, and half of what is up there seems inaccurate. Who is running this show?

    ReplyDelete
  26. Silver pointstreak scores are entered by the scorekeepers. It use to be in real time, however the internet has not been working in the scorekeepers booth, so scorekeepers enter the scores either at home or in the rink the next day or after a game.

Bronze league is a little different, the scoresheets are picked up each Sunday evening after the Sunday Night Hockey game, and entered into league lineup the next morning. If there is ever a scoring discrepancy (probably misspelled) in the Bronze league you can email Chad, and he will have it fixed that day.

In regards to the gold players playing down in silver, yes there are gold players playing down in silver, but there have always been gold players playing down in silver and silver players playing in bronze. If there was a league below bronze there would probably be bronze players playing in that and so forth and so on. Currently the silver is the highest level league at nytex (or agruably the over 35, but that is wrapping up next week). The silver league is moving towards an upper and lower division with the teams that are loaded up obviously going into the upper tier and the other teams dropping down into the lower tier.

Bronze is one giant league with two conferences. Conferences are not based on skill. With two new expansion teams this season it was too hard to determine who belonged in what conference. Especially with all the player movement that went on during the off season. Look for the bronze to remain this way, and the silver to start to adopt more of the bronze's way of doing things.

There is a person in place who is looking over each bronze teams roster, and cross referencing players names with players from other rinks in an effort to see if there are any B or C league players from say Euless or Grapevine or wherever playing in Bronze. If there are, then action will be taken to even things out.

Silver is in transition right now, but exciting things are on the horizon. Yes it is not rocket science, and no we are not splitting atoms up here, but there is far more involved in running a hockey league than you would think. Look for things to shape up in the fall.

Yes in the fall ice time will be scarce and teams may not play when they want to, but we are doing some things this fall that should help ease the pain and make things more exciting.

    ReplyDelete
  27. thats pretty dumb to just flat out say they will be dealt with if they play in another league. what if they play on a team with a bunch of friends but they this individual sucks and belongs in a bronze league. you are going to just kick that person out of nytex's bronze league because he plays in a different league at a different rink. sounds like nytex is being a bit of a titty baby.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I think what the Nytex comment was saying is if you play in a C or B league at another rink you would be dealt with. meaning that you would be asked to not come back to bronze and move up to silver.

But then again, anyone can put any name and make a comment.
