Silver League Game of the Week January 4th- January 10th

The Silver League Game of the Week this week is between the Borrachos and Hornets. The game is slated for 11:30 on Friday the 8th. Borrachos come in at 4-2-1 while Hornets are sitting on 5-4-1.

In fewer than 10 games this season, these teams each have a player with a hefty number of penalty minutes. The Hornets have Donny Wills who has 25 pims so far, and the Borrachos are led by Dan Stuckeman who not only has 19 points this season, but 19 pims as well.

The Borrachos are the reigning Champs of the league. They have already had one brawl this season (vs. Chupacabre).

Killers prediction, Borrachos 7-Hornets 3

  1. id like to see a rules change that allows 2 willing participants to fight without suspension...i mean might as well put usa hockey insurance to use if two guys respectfully wish to join in unanimous fisticuffs

  3. Might as well make them all checking leagues too. Now that would be awesome!

  4. Before we agree on checking, some of us older guys need to make sure that our insurance covers hip replacement.

  6. Great idea combining Bronze and Silver league blog together. Will have a chance for Bronze league players to move up to more challenging hockey.

  8. allowing willing participants to fight? REALLY? are you serious? well why don't we just call NRH PD and have them send over an officer to sit in the stands to make sure no one kills each other! GOD YOU PEOPLE ARE REALLY STUPID! But hey you've got to love idiot white trash rednecks on skates! GET A LIFE YOU TOOL!

  9. Actually if you had two guys that mutually agreed to fight each other then whats the big deal? If you have one guy running around fighting people who dont want to fight then you have problems, but if you have two guys who mutually agree to tilt then let them tilt.

  10. agreed, if two of us "idiot white trash rednecks on skates" mutually agree to fight, let them fight without a suspension as a penalty. Make it a 10 min. penalty or something instead. i believe that 2 people who mutually agree to fight could do so with the same gentlman rules as the NHL imputs and once the fight gets to the ice it stops or if one guy wants to stop then they stop. If everyone backed off and let 2 guys go at it with the refs right there to break it up when it was time to be broken up i think it would work just fine. If guys are worried about major damage then leave the gloves on an have a boxing match. there are ways to make it work and with as many people as have been suspended for fighting i think a rules change would be a great idea...further more i would be willing to bet that if there was a rules change and 2 guys could mutually agree to fight, that there would no longer be brawls breaking out

  11. It was a good game, no stupid stuff from either team so we had a lot of fun. Nice to finally be able to play the Hornets again. Borrachos barely won it 6 - 5.
