Stanley Keg Quarterfinals and Silver League Playoff Updates

Over in the Silver League the Finals are set as the Ice Dogs will square off against Crank It Up in a best of three series that opens up Sunday evening in the friendly confines of the Nytex Sports Centre. Killer predicts that Crank It Up will win in two games (both overtime thrillers). Ice Dogs were tough all season, but Crank It Up knows its time to shine so give me the Bass Boys from Crank It Up.
In the Bronze the Quarters are set, and we have some interesting matchups.
Stingers versus Spider Monkeys should go to the Bees. No real suprises here, sorry Monkeys, but hey look at the plus side, Monkeys did win a playoff game this season, so POW!
Whalers vs. Rampage, and this one should go to the Whalers. Turn around team of the season. These guys went from worst to almost first, and are now a legitimate threat for the Keg. Can you picture the funny videos those Whalers would make if the Stanley Keg was theirs?
Sens and Jets should go to the boys in red. Well, the boys in the brighter shade of red that is. Sens have played strong this season setting a team record for wins in a season. As for the Jets, they have been all over the place this session, and word on the street is that star goalie TJ Hall is working out with the Situation on the Jersey Shore and selling T-Shirts to raise money for his next tanning treatment.
Bandits and Indians are the first game of the playoffs where who knows who will win. Bandits have been solid despite moving Greg Perry into the net this session. Bandits have become a solid team in the league, and should give the Tribe a great run for their money. The Tribe on the other hand had a down season. Finishing in 5th place is a far cry from the first or second place finishes they have grown use to. This one should be a goaltender dual the Birdman versus the Nashville Nighthawk (Perry). I say this one goes to overtime and Kent "FLASH" Gordon will get the game winner with four seconds left.

  3. Of course Knute's team will win, he'll make sure of that through hook or crook. First he gets a bunch of young high schoolers fresh out of school, add a few other young guns, then manipulate the rules to disadvantage any opponent. It's a formula for success! Enjoy that Keg cheat it up, err I mean crank it up...

  4. If you think Nytex is bad, you should see some adult leagues in Jersey. D-bag galore. When I return I'll be tanned and ready to go.

  6. awwwww a sore looser bitching and whining like a baby, grow some balls and man up pussy...complaining that Crank It Up is "cheating" is such a joke and completely takes credibility away from teams like the Indians who beat us the first game of the playoff series and the 8 other games we lost. Ice Dogs still are in first place and have lost less games than us. Its a very competitive league and any of the final 4 teams could have easily won the keg this season.

  7. As I watched the games, the Indians probably would have beat you in the series had Knute not pussied out himself and put in a different goalie. Best was doing a fine job in the first game but it wasn't good enough to guarantee a victory so Best suddenly "injured". Kind of funny how that injury cleared up enough for him to play Saturday night against the Stingers.

Before all of you start complaining that this only evened the goaltending because the Indians have Kyle Kelly, you need to look at the offensive statistics.

Crank It up: goals for 246, Indians: 122

    Leading scorers:

    Crank It Up:

    Rank G A Pts
    1 Hunter Harvell Crank It Up 41 27 68
    2 Knute Anderson Crank It Up 27 40 67
    8 Josh Ball Crank It Up 26 28 54
    9 Jd Byers Crank It Up 32 21 53
    14 Josh Self Crank It Up 33 14 47
    16 Roger Bishop Crank It Up 18 23 41
    22 Ben Plumlee Crank It Up 15 18 33

    Indians:

    17 Brent Rector Indians 32 8 40
    19 Kacy Bird Indians 24 11 35

So with 7 of the top 25 scorers in the league, the Knute lead Crank It Up could not defeat a team with only 2? That is pretty pathectic. My hat goes off to the Indians, they played their hearts out and truly deserve to be playing for the Keg.

  9. hahaha dude if your going to pull point streak stats to compare then im not even going to respond to those statistics. Everyone knows point streak is a joke...especially since Josh Self has not played the last 6 weeks, Roger Bishop has played 5 games this year yet somehow they both keep getting credited with goals each week they are missing.

The Indians are a great team...one of the best in the league no doubt and the series could have gone either way. Their goalie is one of the best in the league and he played great in the playoffs, we just happened to win. It was very evenly matched hockey yet they are not whining and complaining because nobody is cheating as you are claiming. You win some, you loose some then drink a beer and get over it.
