This Weekends Games

With the season winding down, teams are fighting to finish in the top two of their division. Over in the Ranger Division it looks like MIB is pretty safe to finish at worst in second place. More than likely they will finish out in first. Also in the mix for the one of the top two spots are the Rampage and Indians. Rampage square off against a tough Whalers squad this weekend and the Tribe will face the Bandits. Bandits gave MIB their first loss last week, but lost a couple players in the process. Word on the street is that Bandit player Brandon Decker used duct tape to fix the cut on his face, so he will more than likely be back in action. The other Bandits D man Opie is out the rest of this season and all of next with a “lower body” injury. MIB face severe Icing, so it looks like MIB will probably get another win.

In the Texan Division it’s a different story. Puddle Jumpers have a two point lead over Whalers and are tied with Bandits. So the Rampage vs Whalers and Tribe vs Bandits games seem to be pretty important to all teams involved this weekend. Jumpers face the Stingers who are in a rebuilding year, so its probably a win for the Jumpers. So if MIB and Puddle Jumpers each get a win this weekend they almost guarantee a spot in the top two of their divisions which would get them a first round bye.

Should be an interesting weekend. As for the other games, Jets vs Monkeys should be interesting as the Monkeys are looking for their 4th win of the season which is the most they have had in, well, probably ever. Jets have been having an off year, and are looking for a win. I say Monkeys 10- Jets 4. Sens vs Joes will probably go to the Sens, Joes have been having a rough season, and in the wake of last weeks suspension and the week befores fight, there may not be much left in their tank. Sens 10 Joes 4.

  1. I love the fact that there has not been any comments on this post. I would chalk it up to the lack of proper predictions of the games.

  2. Good game Rampage. You guys played the better game on Saturday. I look forward to playing against you again. Cheers!

  3. The Sens demolished the Joes. That much was accurate. Though the 4 goals against were not. 8-0, Sens. In any case, let's celebrate your grammar, Borat. You've improved very much!

  4. So how many of you Bronze Ringers are gonna move up to Silver?

    ReplyDelete
  5. I'm a bronze league ringer and have no plans to move up! Getting a couple points a game really boosts my self esteem...I'll be dangling you benders as long as they'll let me stay in the league!!!

  6. I'm going to stay in bronze because i like to see ice hole whine like a little bitch.

  7. I am ashamed of you Senators. Everybody in this league knows that if the other team isn't scoring any goals you must stop scoring immediately, let the other team get some goals, and only at that point do you continue to dominate. It is classless. Around the blog we like to refer to it as "running up the score". This does two things. First, it hurts the feelings of the team you are playing and secondly it intimidates the teams you haven't played yet. This type of behavior is unacceptable at Nytex and will not be tolerated. Consider this your only warning.

I totally agree with Anonymous --the one who talked (on 8/25/10, at 9:21am) about the Sens "running up the score" on weaker teams.

First, the Senators are clearly the only team to ever completely dominate an adversary in the Bronze League at Nytex. Moreover, they did it during this very season, in front of our (blog's) very eyes! Therefore, I submit that the Sens' squad is comprised solely of a rare breed of godless assholes and truly poor examples of human beings.

Of course, the systematic, 11-0 slaughter of the Spider Monkeys by the Bandits on 7/31 doesn't count. Also, on 7/10, when the Rampage drummed the Spider Monkeys 11-0, that was a total fluke. And make sure to look the other way at the gruesome 8-0 final score on 6/27, when the Indians once again made sport of the Spider Monkeys.

In conclusion, fuck you, Senators. Just because your record is barely over .500, just because your roster is remarkably similar week after week, proving that you never call in "ringers" to help out even when recovering from a multiple-game losing-streak, just because you listen to your coach, who draws up plays that you're able to execute in the offensive zone, and, probably as a result, just because you can incredibly spread around the scoring evenly between every player on your team, effectively allowing 6 different skaters to score in your recent 8-0 domination of the Average Joes, you're now officially hated --even more-- by everyone in the league. For your arrogance, complete lack of class, and utter disregard for the feelings of the fellow competitive sports-team that you faced off with, please consider this: fuck you and your dumb, stupid faces, you jerks.

    Love,
    Eric - Sens - #24

P.S. I would feel bad for the Spider Monkeys, who seem to be the perennial punching-bag of the Bronze League, if they hadn't just beaten the Senators, and only by bringing out a couple Silver League studs from the Borrachos to do it for them while the rest of their team watched and pretended to have something to do with it. Of course, that's a discussion for a multitude of posts of the past and the future, I suppose. In any case, no sympathy.

  10. I think Palmer must have spiked Andersons Kool Aid. That sounds like some Double Rainbow full on stoner talk.

  11. Eric #24 Sens,

I feel I must point out the fact that you stated your team spreads the goal scoring and dosent rely on one player when in fact one player on your team has 23 points (in a ten game season thats not over yet) and the next closest guy has 9 points. 80% percent of the scoring on your team can be wrapped up into about 4 guys.

  12. I’m ashamed of them too! How dare you have a complete disregard for a sport in which points are scored! CHRIST!
On a night where every team member was clicking on all cylinders, I too would have told them to pull back, remove the goalie from net and allow them to walk one in… THEN RAM IT IN THEIR RAMHOLE!!!! All those other games that were won by sizable margins, yeah, that team should have done the same thing, instead of getting the goalie a phenomenal shutout! Take that goalie! You’re team hates you!
And as far as the other team’s feelings, you most definitely should not hurt them, they are much fragile (pronounced: fra-jee-lay). Especially if they have almost twice as many players on their bench! That’s twice as many feelings that have the potential to be hurt, and that’s not nice! I also wouldn’t want to intimidate another hockey team before we play them, that’s just super double rainbow disrespectful!
Every team who has ever “run up the score,” especially those fucking texas tech red raiders, should be burned at the stake, or at least weighed next to a fowl of some breed. YOU’VE BEEN WARNED SENATORS, STOP OR BE FOWL WEIGHED!

  13. @Fucktard <--not being rude, that's what he calls himself.

Yes Palmer is our best player, teams have them. But the website misses probably 70% of the actual scoring. e.g. assists, and the occasional goal gets misplaced. so while palmer might score our goals, the rest of the team has far more scoring than what the website leads on. It's always been that way, and to nobodies fault, unless we start getting instant replay then its on bitches.

Also, Eric didn't say that our season scoring was spread around, merely that in last sunday's win 6 different players scored. If that isn't spreading the points around then we better bring a ringer in to ring it all in. <- see what i did there.

  17. And there you have it. The Sens don't suit up any ringers, eh Anonymous at 9:27pm? Roger that.

  18. Look at your team's stat sheet. Do you consider their points to equal their value to the team? Diving in front of pucks, back checking, steals, nice passes, battling on the boards, screening the goalie, on-ice coaching... all this stuff adds to your team, but it's not on the stats sheet. Don't be deceived. These guys who are doing the dirty/gritty work are flying under your radar.

  19. I agree with the above post. Players can have a big impact on a game without necessarily getting a goal or assist.

  20. Yeah, just look at me.

  21. Wow a whole string on Senators hate. I think it is a first. Great Job Eric!!!!!

  22. How can we miss you Brandon? Your such a fat ass!

  23. Hey leave me out of this. Its hard being sat on all day, and then getting crammed in those stinky pants. Plus when Brandon farts it smells like Cheetohs, Diareah, and Laffy Taffy.

Correct...they're the dusters that open the door for us more skilled players when we're coming off the ice!!!

    A. Thanks, Fred. Heart --in a totally platonic, non-Brandon way, as opposed to the above. It was a long time coming...

    B. It's true. Brandon "The Fuckin' (Literally) Sahara" loves it as dry as he can get it. The closer to sandpaper, the better.

    C. I also agree with that 40-Something Whitey. The referees at Nytex, while clearly doing their best to effectuate and reside over fair and honorable contests each week, can't be faulted with missing some players' points on the score sheet. Similarly, there is no method of mathematically notating a player's contribution to a team other than Gs and As, without the tracking of +/-, ice-time, etc., as they do in professional hockey organizations. As a result, everyone clearly super sucks, except for maybe like two people per team. Totally. Like.

    Love,
