Bronze League Stanley Keg Frozen Four

The Frozen Four are set, and this Sunday the Keg will be skated at the Nytex.
First match up features the Whalers taking on the Bandits. Bandits make the final four for the second season in a row, and the Whalers are making their first appearance.
This game can go either way. Whalers have been real strong this season in all aspects of the game. Head Coach Derrell Upton has turned his squad around from the bottom of the barrell to the top of the crop. Bandits had their second straight strong season, and are looking like a solid organization. Head Coach Bill Ivey has whipped his squad into shape despite moving head goon Greg Perry in between the pipes. Perry has held up nicely in his first full season as netminder, and his squad seems to be ready to go. This game will probably be fairly high scoring. I predict a 8-7 Bandits victory. Game winning goal scored by Kent "Flash" Gordon on a breakaway late in the third.
Second semi final match up features the API Sens taking on the reigning Keg holders, the Stingers. Rumor mills have been spinning lately with talks that the Stingers may break up a bit and send some guys up to the Silver League this summer. If that rumor holds true look for this Stinger squad to try to snag a record fifth Keg before the team breaks up. Senators on the other hand have been to the Frozen Four three times now, and will be looking to finally break through and play for their first Keg. These two scrappy teams will certainly leave everything on the ice in what is sure to be an epic battle. Sens are riding on the coattails of their new netminder, Matt Davis. Davis spent several seasons skating out for the Sens before making the move this season to the goalie position. I predict a shocker here with another 8-7 victory this one going to the Sens. In the end Youth will win out as the Sens young skaters will wear down the veteran Bees squad.
And then with the final, who knows, flip a coin and youll have as good a guess as anyone who will win.

  11. Indians used an inelligible player in the playoff win over the Bandits. Player was not 18, did not play in 5 games during the season, and was a high school varsity player (currently).

Bandits protested and Nytex upheld the protest.

Couple seasons back Stingers brought in a questionable goalie when regular Stinger's netminder Dana Fenili slipped a couple discs in his back. Dana was unable to play, and they brought in another goalie from outside the league. Since then all the coordinators have talked and agreed all goalie subs must come from within the league.

Every season there will no doubt be some turmoil or arguing over someone or team. If we all follow the rules and quit trying to cut corners and bend them the league will be much better. It is the best league of its kind in the metroplex.

  12. Hey, duchebag. What are you? A high schooler, too? Nice job posting your crap a million times... Effective....

Severe icing could have and should have filed a protest if they knew that Rampage used an ineligible player. NYTEX can't enforce what they don't know about.

What are you bashing on Ivey and Perry for? Greg Perry is one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Bill is Bill, I know, but the only thing he's guilty about is being passionate towards the game of hockey.

Perhaps you are just mad because a high school goalie had 4 points on you guys. I hope he wasn't in the net and got those points! If he was, I'd say you deserved to lose! Ha ha! Sack up and get over it......
